At last the court verdict has come for the controversial title ‘Dirty Picture’ in Kannada. The Mumbai High Court has passed verdict in favor of Ektha Kapoor who made ‘Dirty Picture’ in Hindi starring Vidya Balan in the role of Silk Smitha the south Indian former sizzling star.

Ektha Kapoor filed a case in Mumbai declining the title for Kannada cinema. The HC has approved the argument of Ektha Kapoor advocate and passed an order to change the title for Kannada cinema ‘Dirty Picture…Silk Sakkath Hot Maga’.

Producer of Akshay Enterprises R Venkatappa, director Trishool have finally settled down to the kicker line as the main title.

Here afterwards the title for Kannada cinema of Veena Mallik (she does what Vidya Balan had done) with Akshay in the lead role is ‘Silk’…Sakkath Hot.

Speaking to this correspondent director Trishool stated the plea to the High Court for ‘Dirty Film, Dirty Veena, Dirty Movie, Silk Story, Silk Life, Silk Beauty, Bad Picture…and others was made. Nothing was approved. Finally we had to pick the title from ‘Silk Sakkat Hot Maga’ kept below the earlier title remembers Trishool. Further arguments in the case would only delay the film release. So we settled with ‘Silk’…Sakkath Hot says Trishool.

‘Silk…Sakkath Hot’ is at the dubbing stage and one of the five songs is left for shooting. Sana, Shashi, Avinash, Achyuth Kumar, Srinivasamurthy, Sadhu Kokila, Nayana Krishna, Anitha Bhat and others are in the cast.

Jai Anand is cameraman and Jaassie Gift is music director. Thriller Manju and Kaurava Venkatesh have done the action portion. Harsha, Madan-Harini, Chamaraj and Dhanu are choreographers. Nagendra Urs is editor of the film.

This is the first controversy of 2013 getting a settlement.
